Overview of Role

 

Holiday Club Assistants – Required for School holidays from April 2024  – various weeks are available

Highfield Pre-School is looking for enthusiastic helpers for its Holiday Club which is running for 2-5 year olds.

The hours of the Club will be from 8.00am until 6.00pm on Mondays to Fridays during School holiday periods. 

The role will involve the following duties and responsibilities:
• To ensure the safekeeping of the children;
• To contribute to the development and delivery of a fun and stimulating programme of activities for the children to do during the Holiday Club;
• To assist with the setting up and clearing away of these activities each day;
• To welcome the children each morning and to settle them quickly into their first activities;
• To assist with escorting children to and from different activities as required;
• To supervise and encourage the children during their time in the Holiday Club during their activities and creative play;
• To offer assistance and support as required to both the children and the other staff;
• To ensure the staff team work together to provide an excellent experience for the child;
• To liaise with parents and carers at the beginning and end of each day.

Person specification:

  • Experience of helping/working with younger children up to age 5;
  • Able to bring fun and exciting ideas for activities;
  • Enjoys being outdoors and running activities outside;
  • First Aid would be an advantage.

 

Applicants should have a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification and be experienced in working in a similar environment.
