Part-time Teacher of English – (0.54 Timetable/3 days) for September 2025 or January 2026
Overview of Role
Harrogate Ladies College and Highfield is a family of three leading independent schools, with boarding school provision, delivering a world class education in the heart of Harrogate for boys aged 2-11 and girls aged 2-18 years.
When you join our team, you will discover a friendly, hard-working atmosphere where everyone has a role to play and everyone is important. Teachers enjoy the opportunity to teach our motivated pupils who have a real desire to learn. You will also be working in an environment that encourages you to be creative and forward thinking in your teaching approach and actively celebrates new and innovative ideas. Of course, there is also plenty of support and guidance on hand to help you.
We are wishing to recruit a well-qualified, enthusiastic English teacher from September 2025 to teach English across 3 days in our senior school. An ability to teach GCSE and A level English is essential. Experience of teaching EAL is desirable but not essential for the role.
Our pupils come, not only from the surrounding local areas, but from across the UK and over 28 countries overseas. To enrich pupils’ learning, all teachers are expected to contribute to the co-curricular life of the school.
Being an independent school, term time is 34 weeks of the year and we have a further 5 days of INSET training. Staff benefits include: a contributory pension scheme, reduced school fees for College and Highfield, complimentary meals and drinks in term time, and an independent employee support service.
Please refer to the job description and person specification for further details.
