Chapel

At Harrogate Ladies’ College, collective worship is a fundamental part of school life, reflecting our strong Christian foundation. Chapel plays a vital role in Flourish, fostering a sense of community, belonging and spiritual support for pupils and staff alike.

A WELCOMING & INCLUSIVE EXPERIENCE

We hold regular weekday Chapel services, bringing together pupils and staff for moments of reflection, celebration and connection. These services are led by members of our community, both staff and pupils alike, and are enhanced by our exceptional Chapel Choir.

As part of the Martyrs’ Memorial Trust, our Christian heritage is at the heart of our school ethos. We are committed to core values that remain steadfast over time, including mutual respect, inclusion and understanding of people of all faiths and those with no faith.

CELEBRATING CHRISTIAN FESTIVALS & TRADITIONS

Chapel services offer a time for support, sharing and celebration. Throughout the year, we gather to mark major Christian festivals, including:

  • Christmas
  • Easter
  • Remembrance
  • Harvest

These services create lasting memories for our pupils. In fact, many former pupils request a Chapel service when attending reunion events, highlighting its significance in their school experience.

STRONG LINKS WITH ST WILFRID’S CHURCH

Beyond our own Chapel, we maintain a close relationship with St Wilfrid’s Church, located next to the College. This historic church hosts our annual Carol Service and Commemoration Service, providing a beautiful setting for these cherished traditions.
