At Harrogate Ladies’ College, we passionately believe that happy, healthy, confident pupils achieve more, both inside and outside of the classroom. This is why we place such a strong emphasis on the all-round care and wellbeing of all our pupils.
The Flourish programme encompasses our pastoral care provision. Flourish is a personalised pupil support network, which is designed to provide guidance for every pupil, at every step.
WHAT IS FLOURISH?
Flourish is an all-encompassing wellbeing programme that ensures all Harrogate Ladies’ College pupils have the support and guidance available to thrive. It also equips them with the social, emotional and interpersonal skills to be resilient, confident and compassionate individuals who can navigate challenges, build meaningful relationships and achieve their full potential in all aspects of life.
EVERY PUPIL, EVERY STEP
Our multi-disciplinary Flourish team, led by our Designated Safeguarding Lead, meet weekly to discuss the wellbeing of every single pupil at Harrogate Ladies’ College. This proactive approach allows us to:
- Identify small bumps on the road before they become bigger issues
- Foster a school-wide culture of inclusivity by actively ensuring every pupil feels valued, respected and supported in their learning environment
This is a crucial element of our school’s proactive approach to delivering an outstanding pastoral care programme for pupils in Upper 3 to Sixth Form.
The individual knowledge of our pupils, and the collaborative approach of our multi-disciplinary Flourish team – which includes trained care practitioners, heads of years, boarding staff and the school’s mental health lead – ensures a proactive and bespoke approach to anticipating pupils’ needs.
