Alan gave a motivational talk to the boys and girls about the importance of following their dreams and the hard work and effort required to get there.

Alan, who is widely credited as the person who first encouraged Mo to run and is a former recipient of the Pride of Britain Teacher of the Year Award, said,

“It was a real honour to be invited to Highfield to share Mo’s story and to hand out the prizes at Speech Day. The children have achieved some amazing things during the past year and I hope that they will be inspired by Mo’s story to continue to work hard and follow their dreams.”

Rachel Colbourn, Head of Highfield commented:

“We were delighted that Alan was able to speak to the children on Speech Day. He gave an inspirational talk about the importance of working hard to achieve goals and it was great for the children to hear about Mo’s journey towards two Olympic Gold Medals.”
