Harrogate Ladies’ College Wins Top Housekeeping Award For Third Year
The housekeeping staff at Harrogate Ladies’ College were celebrating last night after winning a major national award for cleanliness for the third year running.
The school was awarded a Gold CAP Award for Housekeeping after inspectors praised the college for its high standards and attention to detail.
The CAP (Continuous Advancement Programme) Awards recognise excellence in housekeeping and are regarded as the highest measure of quality in independent schools.
The school first scooped bronze in 2010 but since then has claimed the top prize showing measurable improvements year on year.
Principal Sylvia Brett praised the housekeeping team for another outstanding award win.
She said:
“I would like to pass on my congratulations and thanks to everyone in the housekeeping team – this Gold Award is well deserved. The team works tirelessly to ensure we can enjoy our wonderful premises day in, day out – their efforts are vital to the success of our school.”Sylvia Brett
Ian Jackson, Managing Director of the CAP Awards, praised the housekeeping team for their achievements.
He said:
“There is such a wonderful team spirit at Harrogate Ladies’ College and so much support and respect for the housekeeping team from all departments, right across the school. They took the Gold Award because they received a very good ‘hands-on’ cleaning inspection score, in fact the highest for a school this year – the premises was spotless. Well done to Harrogate Ladies’ College for a much deserved third Gold Award, it’s clear they are always striving to improve.”Ian Jackson
The school was also praised for having good coordination and cooperation between departments including estates, boarding house, parents and teachers.
Inspectors were particularly impressed with the ability of the housekeeping team to meet the challenge of maintaining such high standards of cleanliness across the range of sites at the school, including the old and new buildings and the spread of locations from the main building to the sports hall and across to Tower House.
