Harrogate Ladies’ College Appoint Head of Design Technology for New Era as Duchy College
After nearly two decades of experience at Horsforth School, Sharon Mayo has been appointed as the new Head of Design Technology at Duchy College, Harrogate.

Design Technology will form part of the expanded senior school curriculum, as Harrogate Ladies’ College extends its co-ed provision and changes its name to Duchy College from September 2026.
I am thrilled to be joining the team at Duchy College in September. Creating a department from scratch is incredibly exciting. It is a chance to build something really special. The new Design Technology suite is bright, modern and incredibly well-equipped. Pupils will work with wood, plastics and metals, using both hand tools and machinery.

Alongside ongoing investments in a standalone Sixth Form Centre and refurbished boarding facilities, Principal, Joanna Fox, sees Design Technology as a key element of the school’s offering.
