Children of Hope is a charity that provides free education, healthcare and welfare for impoverished families in Uganda and Juliet gave an inspirational talk to pupils and parents about the importance of education and making a difference.

Highfield Prep School initially helped to raise funds to build the Salvation Way School in Uganda which opened last year, and continues to support the school through teacher training and sponsorship of the pupils which allows them to attend school. Juliet said,

“It was a real honour to be invited to Highfield Prep School and hand out the prizes at Speech Day. Education is such an amazing thing that would be easy to take for granted but the boys and girls at Highfield truly value the difference they are making to these African children’s’ lives.

“There is a wonderful school community at Highfield and the children should be very proud of what they have achieved during the past year. I hope they continue to work hard and realise their dreams and ambitions.”

James Savile, Head of Highfield Prep School said,

“We were delighted that Juliet was able to speak to the children and their families on Speech Day. Highfield’s link with the school in Uganda and the pupils we sponsor is unique and a very special way for our children to have a greater understanding of the wider world in which they live.

“We have had two trips to Uganda and are already planning another visit next year! The opportunity for Year 6 pupils, parents and staff to spend time at the school and meet with the children they sponsor is a life changing experience for everyone.”
