Inspirational Woman – Essay Writing Competition
To celebrate International Women’s Day, we’d like to invite pupils in Year 3, 4 and 5 to write about an inspirational woman and tell us whey they have inspired you! It could be anyone – your mummy or grandmother, a sports person, a famous woman from history or even a teacher!
Finalists will be invited to a special luncheon on Wednesday, 15 May when the winners will be announced and the winning entries will be read aloud by inspirational women!
Book prizes worth £50 will be awarded for 1st places in each age category, £20 for 2nd places in each category and £10 for 3rd places in each category. There will also be a book prize worth £50 for each first-placed school.
Entries can be typed or handwritten and can include illustrations, pictures or photos. The word limit for pupils in Years 3 and 4 is 500 words. For pupils in Year 5 the word limit is 750 words.
