Recent Leaver, Lucy Thompson, Visits School
We love to hear from our recent leavers, and hear about what happened next! Lucy visited the school in March and spoke to our Sixth Form French pupils about her experiences:-
“After leaving HLC in 2023, I went on to study International Relations, French and Spanish at the University of Exeter. Alongside my studies, I continued playing lacrosse and had the opportunity to captain a team to BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) gold, which was a real highlight, and was later awarded Captain of the Year.
As part of my degree, I chose to take a year abroad on work placement. I’ve spent the last six months living in Paris, working at Steele & Holt, an independent corporate communications consultancy. It’s been a great balance of gaining some first professional experience while properly immersing myself in French life and the French language, as well as meeting lots of new people.”
