Using kindness every day, building resilience and the importance of teamwork were the inspirational messages delivered by Highfield’s very first head girl at the 2025 Highfield Prep School Speech Day.

Bex Bentley, who was Highfield’s first head girl, and is currently the Chief of Staff to Accenture’s UK, Ireland and Africa CEO, urged the audience of parents, staff and pupils to ‘continue to learn, grow, and cheer each other on’.

Something I started learning right here at Highfield is success isn’t something you achieve on your own, it’s built on encouragement and teamwork. A Highfield teacher once told me kindness was the best superpower to have in life, and I genuinely think they were right. So, as I go through life, I might not be superwoman, I definitely can’t time travel and I still haven’t worked out how to be invisible, but I do try and remember to use kindness as a super power every day.

Miss Bentley was the keynote speaker at the annual Speech Day, which saw Highfield Prep School pupils receive prizes for their academic, performing and creative art, sporting and extra-curricular successes from the 2024/25 academic year.

Speech Day also featured a review of the year by pupils, and speeches from the Head Boy and Girl.

I think our school motto is the best ever; I AM ME. Three simple words that say so much and that we will keep with us through our lives. Every single one of us is brilliant and amazing. Every single one of us is unique.
