Pupils Celebrates Outstanding A*-A Results and Academic Progress
Harrogate Ladies’ College (Duchy College) pupils are celebrating the best A*-A grade percentage in four years, outstanding value-added progress and a 100% pass rate as A Level results were announced this morning.

The school’s A*-B percentage has seen three consecutive years of improvement and two-thirds of pupils this year achieved at least one A* or A grade, the highest figure since 2023.
80% of grades in Maths and Further Maths were A*-A, while 53% of pupils will go on to study STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) courses, over double the national average of female applications for STEM subjects in 2025.
In addition to achieving a 100% pass rate, the school achieved its highest A Level value-added score in three years, a metric which measures academic progress compared to the pupils’ baseline starting point.
Former head prefect, Josephine Williams, averaged well over one grade higher than her baseline predictions and has been offered a place to study Neuroscience at King’s College, London.
I will carry a piece of this school with me, not just in my memories, but in the way it has shaped how I think, how I see people and how I understand myself. Pupils view their A Level results with excitement
Tilly Reid, who has a deep connection to the school, achieved a clean-sweep A*A*A* and has been accepted to the University of Birmingham to study Psychology.

Tamara Pohronska, who achieved outstanding A*AAA results in Economics, Maths, Further Maths and Physics, will study Mechanical Engineering at Columbia University, an Ivy League university and one of the most prestigious institutions in the United States.
I couldn’t believe it when I was accepted into Columbia, it’s a dream come true for me. The individual support, small class sizes and atmosphere for learning played a major part in helping me secure a place at Columbia.

Pupils will go on to study a wide range of courses
Pupils will progress to a diverse range of further study and career pathways at Russell Group universities, with courses including Music at Durham University, Architecture at University College London, Drama and Film Studies at the University of Manchester, Agriculture at Newcastle University, Zoology at Bristol University and Anthropology and Politics at Queen’s University Belfast.
These outstanding A Level results are testament to the work ethic, resilience and determination of our pupils. I am exceptionally proud of each and every pupil, as completing A Levels is a challenging process which requires high levels of dedication and commitment. I would like to thank our talented and dedicated staff, who have played a major role in the success of our A Level pupils. Seeing our pupils pursue their ambitions across such a diverse range of courses is testament to our commitment to nurturing every pupil as an individual. We are excited to begin our next chapter as Duchy College and we look forward to providing opportunities for boys and girls as they work towards their individual ambitions.
