Our alumni are welcome to come back and visit us at any time when the buildings are open. We also welcome alumni to events throughout the year including reunions, seasonal celebrations and HLC Friends events.
We have two events currently in the diary for 2020 and we will be updating this page as we explore ideas and develop exciting plans for events that don’t require physically meeting!
You can contact Alumni Relations Officer Alex Partridge on email@example.com or 01423 537029.

Virtual HCU Reunion
Whilst the traditional annual Reunion at College has been cancelled this year, we are putting together something a little different for our alumnae instead! We hope you will join us for this special online event, from the comfort of your home, on Saturday 6th June! The full programme is as follows:
- Principal Sylvia Brett
Welcome and Update
Including a silence for alumnae affected by Covid-19,
and the school hymn ‘How Shall I Sing’ by the Chapel Choir
- Chapel Choir
Special performance of Rutter’s ‘A Gaelic Blessing’
- Sharon Maas (1961-65, 68-69)
Sharon treats us to a reading from ‘Her Darkest Hour’, her latest book, which is published today – a beautiful coming of age story of two sisters ripped apart by World War 2. Sharon is a spellbinding storyteller, with a great sense of adventure and curiosity about the world we live in. Read more here. Sharon is kindly offering a giveaway of her new book for five lucky event attendees!
- Elle Kay-Coles (2011-15)
Singer/songwriter, and former Head of Choir, Elle has written a song about the sacrifices made by those working on the front line, to raise money for local voluntary groups providing PPE to local hospitals, including Harrogate Nightingale. Read more here. We are delighted that she will be doing a live performance of the song for us.
- Alice Barber (2006-13)
Founder of feminist theatre company Unsung Collective, Alice’s acclaimed production Unsung explores the untold stories of four pioneering and inspirational female figures from our past, asking why they, and hundreds like them, have been relegated to the footnotes. Alice will talk to us live about the work and answer questions from alumnae. An excerpt of the production – now recorded as a radio play – will be available before the reunion, and the full version will be available for alumnae to enjoy at their leisure afterwards.
- Virtual Tour of the School
- Sharing Memories
Alumnae are encouraged to share their school photographs and memories afterwards in our friendly and lively Alumnae Facebook group! Make sure you have joined the group in advance, as membership needs to be approved.
