On Sunday, 15 January, 44 of us set off bright and early for our visit to the Life Science Centre in Newcastle.
The Centre has lots of hands-on exhibitions and we wandered through the three interactive zones which explored “Our Origins”, “Our World” and “Our Future”.
We travelled the world of astronauts in the planetarium and found out about brain patterns, illusions and tricks of the mind in the Science Theatre. Some of us explored the deep ocean in a simulator, where we witnessed a giant squid being
consumed by an even bigger whale!
The visiting Wallace and Gromit exhibition was a big hit with our girls who were able to visit 62 West Wallaby Street (the home of Wallace and Gromit)
to explore a fantastic world of innovation. The exhibition was designed to stimulate invention and they have run a competition so that children could put forward their ideas. Our only disappointment was that we didn‟t have enough time to see everything.
During the winter, the Centre has an outdoor ice skating rink and we took full advantage of this opportunity.
