Prep 4 pupils came to school with a wild range of wonderful and wacky hairstyles, to celebrate the infamous ‘Crazy Hair Day!’ The pupils unleashed their creativity, inspired by the American artist James Rizzi.

Reception enjoyed their topic ‘Looking After Our Planet’, learning about whales and creating some super whale artwork using the book, ‘The Snail and the Whale’ as the focus for their work.

Highfield’s EDI Group welcomed a fellow pupil’s mother to talk about her upbringing in Zimbabwe. They learned the importance of being thankful for resources like the NHS, tap water, electricity, and a good education.

In an end-of-term showcase, Prep 5 pupils brilliantly performed Mrs Fearn’s ‘Creative Cats’, recited a poem, and sang and danced with wonderful enthusiasm and passion, delighting the audience with their talents. Bravo! 

The HLC Summer Festival provided fun, games, and delicious treats, as Highfield pupils whizzed down the giant inflatable slide, took their chances on the lucky dip, and even got to sponge teachers in the face!

Music is endlessly in the air at Highfield, so the end of term saw pupils stage a number of concerts including Prep 6 piano players who entertained the school with their rendition of the Balloon Pop!
