The main emphasis of learning and teaching in Reception (the year group for 4-5 year olds) is in starting to develop the fundamental tools of academic communication, English and Mathematics. However, our children are introduced to a wider range of intellectual experiences through the course of the year and considerable emphasis is also placed upon practical skills and personal, social and physical development.
