All girls belong to an Academic House. Academic Houses are distinct from Boarding Houses and are named after four famous and influential women – Jane Austen, Rosalind Franklin, Florence Nightingale and Emmeline Pankhurst. The Academic House system gives every girl the opportunity to engage in healthy rivalry. Our girls enjoy competitions in a variety of Inter-House events including Drama, Music, Public Speaking and most of our major sports, and points are awarded on a sliding scale to those who participate. Girls’ success in academic pursuit, good behaviour, and service to others all contribute towards points for the Inter-House Cup, awarded at the end of each term.
