Travel
Each weekend usually and at
Exeats certainly there are house groups going out on
trips somewhere.
These are always
open to day girls as well as boarders. Surrounding
cities are always popular for shopping but we always
build in
some educational purpose. Recent trips have included
York, Stratford-upon-Avon, Hadrian’s Wall, Edinburgh,
London and so on.
Some trips abroad are open to all,
like the January ski trip to the Alps. Others are
aimed at interest
groups
such as Lacrosse in the United States, Classical
Studies to
Rome and Greece, Biology and Geography to Iceland,
Chapel Choir to French Cathedrals and Bach’s
churches. We are not deterred by adverse publicity
over the last
five
years. Foreign trips are a valuable resource when designed
and monitored carefully. All have education at their
heart and are unlikely to duplicate family holidays. |
