The Weekend Programme
Weekends at College are a really special and important time. They are a time when girls can try new things; visit new places; develop new skills; build confidence; and strengthen friendships. In addition to the wide range of extra-curriculum clubs and activities open to the girls, we also have a dedicated Weekend Programme. The Weekend Programme is published at the beginning of each term and is open to day girls as well as boarders.
Each weekend and at least one evening each week there is an organised activity to join in with. The choice of activities is wide and is designed to give everyone the chance to try something new and exciting. Here’s an idea of just some of the activities included in our Weekend Programme:
- Cultural – trips to the theatre, museums, art galleries and historic places around the UK such as Edinburgh, York and London
- Active – ice skating, rowing, hill walking, running and horse riding. Boarders even have free access to one of Harrogate’s leading health clubs twice a week, David Lloyd.
- Social – visits to the cinema, restaurants, theme parks, shopping trips and even Harry Potter World!
We encourage all of our girls to take part in the Weekend Programme because it is such an important part of the overall experience of being a student at Harrogate Ladies’ College – and we’re always open to new ideas and suggestions from the girls themselves!
