Boarders’ Travel

We aim to take care of our boarders every step of the way, including making sure that they travel to and from College safely.  We provide escorted travel within the UK for many of our boarders either to their homes, to local railway stations, or to UK airports.      

International Transport Links

Our nearest international airport is Leeds Bradford Airport which is just 10 miles from school.  Leeds Bradford operates direct flights to many European destinations.  It also operates shuttle flights to London Heathrow (35 minute flight), Paris (90 minutes) and Amsterdam (70 minutes) for fast and convenient connections to worldwide destinations.

Manchester airport is around 90 minutes’ drive and operates direct flights to an array of European and worldwide destinations including Hong Kong, Dubai, Moscow and Singapore.  Many of our international boarders use Manchester as an alternative to Leeds Bradford airport.

Whichever airport you choose we will arrange escorted travel within the UK between airport and school.

UK Transport Links 

For students travelling within the UK, Harrogate has great transport links.  Trains run directly between Harrogate and London Kings Cross several times a day and the main East Coast line from Kings Cross to York takes under 2 hours, or 2 hours 25 mins from Edinburgh.  For boarders travelling from the North West we connect with the main Settle to Carlisle line at Skipton, and from Manchester at Leeds. 

Again, if students are arriving by train we can of course arrange escorted travel between the station and school on a termly or weekly basis. 

By road, we are just 8 miles from the A1 (M) giving motorway access to all major UK cities.
