Fortunately, there are no external examinations for children in Bankfield to take. We judge our success on the overwhelming happiness and satisfaction of the parents of our pupils. We are very confident that we do an excellent job for all our children. They move on from us eager to undertake the next stage of their education.
It is a statutory requirement that Bankfield is inspected by OFSTED. This has happened four times. Each time we celebrated compliments and recognition for the very high quality of care and education we offer. Bankfield was last inspected by OFSTED in October 2007 and received an overall “good” for health and care and “outstanding” for education. Bankfield is also inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). Each time we have been deemed excellent in all areas.

- Helping children to be healthy
‘The provision is good.’
‘All children have very good opportunities for daily fresh air and large physical exercise in the outdoor play area. They also develop physical skills in the school gym. Children enjoy a variety of fruit at snack time. They develop independence by helping to prepare the food.’

Bankfield achieved the PLA (Pre-School Learning Alliance) accreditation award after staff and management evaluated good practice according to the PLA’s criteria and provided evidence of the high quality care and education we provide.
In each of the last few years, since it was initiated in 2008, Bankfield has been delighted to receive the “Highly Effective Setting” title from the Local Education Authority. We are naturally proud of this achievement which provides further evidence of our commitment to high quality care and education.
We have no doubt that Bankfield, the pre prep department of HLC, provides happy, nurturing and stimulating experiences in a warm, caring environment. Our little people learn through exploring their environment with quality equipment, materials and resources. They discover how things work, investigate and problem solve with encouragement and support. The learning environment is influenced and organised by well qualified, experienced, mature early years’ practitioners. These photographs speak more than words and will show you a snapshot of the vast breadth of experiences children encounter.
