Alicia Fenton, Assistant Head (Head of EYFS)
Alicia Fenton, the Head of our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), is a qualified teacher with more than 15 years’ experience in nursery and post-16 education. Alicia has worked locally in schools and Early Years settings and was previously Head of Early Years at a small rural school in the heart of Bronte Country where she was responsible for Early Years and Key Stage 1.
As both a parent to two grown up children and a teacher, Alicia passionately believes in the importance of pre-school education.
“Bankfield is a very special place where happy children flourish into confident learners. I truly believe that the firm foundations established in the early years are crucial to the achievement of their academic success in the future.”
For Alicia, focusing on the achievements of all children is key for getting the best out of each and every child;
“I believe that each child is unique and it’s very important that they are helped to develop their individual talents through gentle encouragement and positive praise. By offering a carefully balanced curriculum this enables each child to achieve good standards of literacy and numeracy as well as developing a desire to learn.”
“THE EXCELLENT WIDE-RANGING ACTIVITIES, BREADTH OF EDUCATION AND OUTSTANDING PASTORAL CARE THAT WE EXCEL IN PROVIDING IS, IN MY VIEW, WHAT MAKES BANKFIELD SUCH A SPECIAL PLACE TO DEVELOP A LIFELONG LOVE OF LEARNING.”Alicia fenton, Head of Early Years
