Values

Each section of our School shares the same fundamental values for its pupils.  Clearly, they have to be suitably mediated for the different age groups, but they provide a clear statement of the ideals that drive us in our work.  We hold as our values:

  • The imperative that everything that goes on in the School is for the benefit of our pupils.  Their interests are always paramount;

  • The need for every individual to be valued for her or his own qualities;

  • The requirement that every member of our community is enjoined to respect her or himself, others, her or his own property, and the property of others;

  • The belief that education is a liberating and life-enhancing experience;

  • The necessity of building mutually supportive relationships within and between all the diverse constituent parts of our community;

  • That we should have expectations of everyone in our community;

  • The virtues of patience, courtesy, security in the expression of ideas, safety from ridicule or temper, fairness and tolerance.
