Special Events
Special events at Highfield add to the academic curriculum and allow the pupils to experience a variety of activities which stimulate and enrich their learning.
The year starts with the Clover Cup and Summer Barbecue which allows all the children in the school to take part in a football tournament and also encourages involvement and participation from parents.
Throughout the year we hold themed House events, take trips out around the local area and abroad, and allow outside drama agencies and history based companies to come in to work alongside the pupils. There are opportunities for pupils to get involved in creativity afternoons, performance assemblies, speech and drama festivals and also to celebrate significant days of the year such as World Book Day.
To widen pupils’ experience further we hold weeks based on themes such as Africa, the environment and the Olympics where the pupils concentrate on learning about issues that impact on us and the World around us in a fun and interesting way. |
