Orchestra

Highfield Senior Orchestra has gone from strength to strength and now numbers some thirty players. Membership of the Orchestra is open to those instrumentalists who are able to play pieces of around Grade 2 Associated Board Standard, or above. Our repertoire is wide, ranging from classical pieces, such as The Harbanera from Bizet’s Carmen, to the very popular James Bond Theme! The Orchestra meets once a week and the emphasis is on having fun whilst making music with other instrumentalists. The Orchestra performs at several prominent events in the school year including the Christmas Carol Service and Prize Giving as well as, for the last three years, winning 1st Prize and The Arnold Bailey Trophy at The Harrogate Competitive Music Festival. We now also have a growing Junior Orchestra where those less competent musicians can gain some experience before progressing to the Senior Orchestra.
