Charity Matters

The idea that ‘charity matters’ is one we take seriously: girls are encouraged to recognise their responsibilities as citizens in a world where the lives of many are much more challenging and demanding than our own.

Initiative for charity events often comes from senior girls, and they make it part of their task to raise awareness of issues in College before embarking on attempts to raise money.
College has an ongoing commitment to Friends of Tanzania, supporting work with children affected by HIV/AIDS. We raise funds for a range of other causes from the very local e.g. Disability Action Yorkshire to international organisations such as UNICEF and WWF.

Money raising events have included sponsored walks and swims, auctions, games of bingo, cake sales and non-uniform days.

In the last 5 years, College has raised over £63,000 for various charities.
