‘The quality of teaching and learning is outstanding so that children make outstanding progress towards early learning goals.’

‘The children enjoy a broad and balanced range of stimulating activities and resources which they freely choose.’

‘Staff consistently encourage children through meaningful praise, are always ready to listen and enter into conversation with the children, challenging them with questions to help them develop and consolidate their learning.’

‘Children with learning difficulties and disabilities are well supported within the setting by an experienced and well trained staff.’

‘Positive behaviour and acts of kindness are rewarded with lots of praise and encouragement.’

‘At the end of the year when children leave the setting the parents receive a very informative written report on their children’s progress.’

The independent inspection commented on the excellent foundation stage including reception classes at Highfield.
